WHAT IS FOREST THERAPY?
FOREST BATHING  ↟  SHINRIN-YOKU  ↟  FOREST MEDICINE

Forest therapy is an ancient invitation wearing modern research as proof. Rooted in the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku - "forest bathing" - it's simply the art of taking in the forest through all your senses, slowly, with nothing to accomplish. Science confirms what many cultures have always known: this kind of immersion lowers stress and blood pressure, eases the mind, and strengthens the body's own defenses.

But numbers only tell part of the story.

During a walk, we move out of our heads and into our bodies. I'll guide you through gentle meditations and sensory invitations - small doorways into presence - as we wander no more than a mile and a half along a local trail. There's space to share what you're noticing as we go; simply being witnessed, we find, is its own kind of medicine. We close each walk together with a simple and sensuous tea ceremony, so the forest becomes something we carry inside us.

This is a practice best understood in the body, not on a page. Come find out for yourself.
