LIS KENNEDY
NATURE & FOREST THERAPY GUIDE

Lis is a nature native. Raised in a small beach town in Southern California, her love of the wild world was shaped early by crying gulls, salt on her lips, and long days spent barefoot in the sand. For over 20 years now, she's called the Wasatch Front home, trading tide pools for mountain trails but never losing that first, deep-rooted belonging to the earth.

Her fascination with human nature led her to a BS in Psychology from BYU. After a season devoted to raising her young family, she learned of the Nature & Forest Therapy Guide trainging through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and felt an immediate heart-hit. The moment she encountered the practice of forest bathing, something in her recognized it instantly. She knew guiding others into this kind of healing was the work she was meant to do.

In 2017, that knowing became Wasatch Forest Therapy, where Lis guides private groups and international retreats to sacred lands, offering people a doorway back into relationship with the more-than-human world. She has a special kinship with both mountain and sea - her two homes - and believes place holds a wisdom, magic, and wonder that can restore us when we let it in.

In 2019, her path led her to co-creating Wildwood Forest School, where she teaches children to grow up in relationship with Mother Earth - work she considers sacred, and one of the greatest joys of her life. She believes children raised in love with the land are the ones who will grow up to protect it.

Lis is also the author of An Invitation to Forest Bathing: 52 Activity Cards to Find Yourself in Nature, a card deck now guiding people around the world into deeper land connection.

When she's not guiding others into the woods, Lis is mother to two inspiring boys, an avid traveler, a lifelong student of the subjects that light her up, and someone who is always, always happiest outside with the people she loves.
