I was eighteen the first time I landed in Ireland, the country my grandfather always spoke of with pride, the place our ancestors, the Kennedys, had come from. I've returned often since then, honestly trying to stay away sometimes (there's a whole world out there!), yet the land keeps calling me home. Each time I do, I come back changed - inspired by her people and the magic that finds you the moment you step on her soil.
I love bringing others to Ireland and watching them soak everything in, often for the first time. I feel compelled to guide women through these expansive moments, connecting them not only to the culture and sacred sites, but to the land herself. She is gentle, yet has an immense gravitational pull that seems to open our hearts to possibility and wonder.
I'm thrilled to share that my next Kindred Adventure is unlike any retreat I've offered before. This time, we'll be immersing ourselves in the ancient roots of the season we've come to know as Halloween (from "Samhain") by partaking in Ireland's most authentic folk celebration - the Púca Festival. GASP!
Samhain (SOW-in) is an ancient Gaelic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter - the turning point of the year and when the veil between worlds is thinnest. I truly can't imagine a more potent place to be during this time of year than the actual birthplace of Halloween, over two millennia ago. Expect delight, wonder, and laughter... and also expect the unexpected (often where the deepest magic happens). Join me for a unique journey into ancient folk tradition, liminal spaces, and the unseen mysteries - I cannot wait!

Ireland with Lis was truly one of the most magical adventures I’ve ever experienced.
What stood out most was how incredibly well organized and thoughtfully put together everything was. There was a perfect balance of adventure, nature, history, connection, and time to simply soak it all in. You could tell how much care and intention went into creating the experience.
I would absolutely recommend kindred adventures to anyone looking for something beyond a typical trip, something soulful, adventurous, and truly unforgettable.

I had the most phenomenal experience on this retreat to Ireland with Lis last August. Everything was so thoughtfully planned and truly went off without a hitch. Lis had every detail taken care of and was incredibly prepared, organized, and confident throughout the entire trip.
The forest bathing activities were beautiful, and I really appreciated that she intentionally built rest into the program as well. It was also amazing to spend the trip with a group of women who were all willing to be vulnerable, connect, and really be present with each other. That sense of connection made the experience even more meaningful.
Lis was also a phenomenal driver, which made traveling around Ireland completely stress-free. I always felt like we were in very capable hands.
I would absolutely recommend a retreat with Lis. It was an incredible experience from beginning to end.

Going to Ireland with Lis changed me and the course of my life forever! Not only is Ireland so beautiful with the kindest people and yummiest food, but Lis led us through the most magical places. She knows Ireland so well (and drives like a pro), and led very intuitively.
It felt like the perfect balance between personal stillness in quiet, beautiful, ancient nature and exciting adventure with music and dancing and fun!! I’ll always cherish the relationships and sacred experiences I had there.

FAQs
⧝ Do I need Irish ancestry to join?
No. This retreat is open to any woman who feels called to the land, the mystery, and the Halloween/Samhain season. When I speak of ancestors here, I mean it in a wider, animistic sense - not just human bloodline, but the land, the animals, the spirits, and all who came before us in any form. You don't need Irish blood to belong to that lineage.
⧝ Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Travel insurance is required to help protect your investment and provide peace of mind. (Many plans usually cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and travel delays).
⧝ Do I have to participate in every activity?
No. The itinerary is offered as an invitation, not an obligation. You're welcome to rest, wander on your own, or sit out any excursion that doesn't call to you.
⧝ Can I attend alone?
Yes. You'll be joining a group of women, most arriving on their own, so you won't be the only one. Group travelers and friends coming together are welcome too.
⧝ What's the payment schedule?
A 25% deposit secures your spot. A second payment of 25% is due by April 2, 2027. The remaining balance (50%) is due in full by August 1, 2027. Balances not paid by their due dates will result in forfeiture of your payments and your spot on the retreat. Individual payment plans are available and worked out directly with Lis.
⧝ Are my payments refundable or transferable?
Due to the nature of advance retreat bookings, all payments are non-refundable. If you cannot attend, you may transfer your spot to another woman with Lis' approval or use toward a future retreat or experience with Lis. If a payment is not received by its due date, your spot may be released to the waitlist, and all payments made are forfeited. Individual payment plans are available, and can be arranged directly with Lis before your first payment is due. If we must cancel due to circumstances beyond our control, you’ll receive a full refund or a full credit toward a future retreat, your choice.
⧝ Is this retreat physically demanding?
This is an adventurous experience - you should be comfortable walking a few miles on uneven terrain, sitting on the ground for periods of time during ceremonies and gatherings, and being in cold, wet weather in nature at times. If you have mobility concerns, reach out beforehand and we can talk through what's realistic for you.
⧝ What weather should I plan for?
Late October in Ireland tends to be cool, damp, and changeable (which sings to my soul!) Expect daytime temps in the 45–55°F range, with rain likely on at least a few days and wind at times. Daylight is shorter this time of year, with sunset around 5:30-6pm. Layers, a waterproof outer shell, and sturdy waterproof footwear are essential. A curated packing list will be provided to you with ample time to prepare.
⧝ What if I don't drink alcohol?
No problem, alcohol isn't a requirement, or included in the retreat cost, so there's nothing to opt out of. The pub night is about the music and atmosphere together as a group; you're welcome to enjoy a non-alcoholic drink and the company without any pressure to drink.
⧝ Do you provide airport transfers?
No, airport transfers aren't included. You'll be responsible for getting yourself to and from our accommodations on arrival and departure days. I can provide guidance and options on how to do that, if requested. Once you arrive at the retreat house, all ground transportation for the week is covered, including transferring to the second accommodation mid-week.
⧝ What if I've never traveled internationally and I'm feeling nervous?
You're not alone in that, and this retreat is actually a great first international trip. Once you arrive at the accommodations, you won't be navigating the retreat solo and all ground transport to and from the daily excursions are arranged for you, so there's nothing to figure out. You'll be traveling with a group of women, many of whom will be having similar first-time nerves, and the whole container of the retreat is built to hold that kind of vulnerability and unknown. I have guided new international travelers before, and the confidence they gain after the experience is amazing to see!
⧝ When should I arrive and can I extend my trip?
It is up to you when you would like to arrive, but I always suggest flying in a day or two before the retreat starts to get through the jetlag and be fully ready to drop into the retreat experience. You are welcome to extend your trip past the retreat dates, but I will not be available to guide your extra days. I am always happy to give my recommendations!
